COUNCIL ON LEGISLATION . . . NOW IN SESSION!!

My Fellow Rotarians:

These are exciting, momentous and historic times for all of us in Rotary.   THINGS ARE HAPPENING!! And they are happening TODAY!

As I write this, the Council on Legislation is convening in Chicago, IL (USA) to  reshape Rotary for the future.  Delegates from every Rotary District around the world have gathered for the single purpose of enacting changes in our policies and procedures that will affect each of us.  These delegates (YOUR delegates) are being PROACTIVE and they are TAKING ACTION for all of us.

When the Council on Legislation completes its work at the end of this week, there will be many changes in attendance, membership, classifications, club territory, etc.

During recent weeks, we have received many inquiries regarding how you can keep up-to-date on the activities and decisions of the Council.  I'm pleased to inform you that effective tomorrow (24 April 2001) you will beable to view
daily updates from the COL by accessing the following link:

            http://www.frankdevlyn.org/council/index.html

Effective tomorrow, there will be special links that you will be able to access directly from the Devlyn "Action Team" home page that will keep you informed.  I invite you to visit the web site each day this week to see how Rotary will be  changing for the future.  Please remember that even though we will be providing daily updates, none of the decisions will be final until the COL has concluded at the end of this week.

I am requesting that you CREATE AWARENESS and TAKE ACTION by forwarding this
message to all Rotarians in your District so they, too, can become "electronic observers" of the 2001 Council on Legislation.  This is important for all of us.

Yours in Rotary Service . . .

Frank J. Devlyn, President
Rotary International 2000-2001
