ELECTION PROCEDURES |
General objectives:
1. Open, transparent nominations procedure
2. Methodology that is incorporated into president's annual calendar
3. Timely schedule to meet district and RI timetables.
4. Facilitate replacement of outgoing board members
November
First Friday President identifies members eligible for board
candidacy. Members in "good standing" are defined as having
70% attendance in first quarter of the current Rotary year. President
names nominations committee to identify qualified candidates for officer
vacancies anticipated the following July 1.
Second Friday President announces that balloting for new board
members will occur during the club meeting on the third
Friday of November; Nomination committee announces names of candidates
for office and eligible board candidates.
Third Friday Paper ballots are prepared, allowing write-in lines
for candidates for officer positions. Members are asked to circle
the names of no more than three (3) candidates for board. Nominations
committee tabulates ballots and reports results to the president. In case
of a tie, the president will determine an appropriate runoff procedure.
DECEMBER
First Friday President introduces newly elected board members
and officers who assume office the following July 1;
Secretary and president insure that officer election results are reported
to D.6560 officials and to Rotary International.
